I doubt it's the same sharereactor.
But it seems alive enough.
I'm kind of content with FileHeaven.
But I guess it's good spread the risk |

i was surprised at no registration. That's what I like about Pirate Bay, hangs it all out for everyone to see and share.
Hopefully the new Sharereactor will follow the same successful model _________________ Shakes: Look kid. You're a loser. Your parents had to pay grown men to come and play with you today, because kids collectively, on a whole, think you suck. |

| Quote: | There are few other indexing sites which generate as much passion or interest as ShareReactor. During its glory days, its achievements were comparable to SuprNova, EliteTorrents, and ThePirateBay. Before the advent of BitTorrent, ShareReactor was the de facto source of information for the eDonkey2000 network. With a reliable index of links to content within eDonkey2000, millions of individuals flocked to ShareReactor and the ShareReactor Forums to participate on this network.
Indexing sites of this magnitude always have a definite lifespan. All the above mentioned sites, whether BitTorrent or eDonkey2000 related, always succumb to the pressures of either the government or entertainment industry. Even ThePirateBay, who was pushed offline in late June of 2006, has struggled to regain its once magnificent composure. In response, many in the file-sharing community have learned to not depend on one indexing site for their informational needs.
However back when ShareReactor was king and eDonkey2000 and FastTrack were among the top methods of obtaining material, few outside the United States were concerned about legal action. But that was to all change on March 12, 2004, when ShareReactor was mysteriously pushed offline. The only indication was a topic heading from the site’s IRC channel.
"MAINPAGE & FORUM WILL MOST LIKELY NOT BE BACK UP, PLEASE DO NOT ASK WHY, WE WILL TELL YOU WHEN WE KNOW MORE!"
ShareReactor’s owner, Christian Riesen, “aka Simon Moon”, who normally is in frequent communication with the file-sharing community, was absent from comment. This absence solidified the suspicion that enforcement action had finally been rendered against ShareReactor. Four days later, this suspicion was confirmed.
On March 16, 2004, the Swiss Police issued a press release which stated a police raid had seized all servers related to ShareReactor. Although details were not specified, the release indicated that several “large companies”, represented by the Swiss Association Against Piracy, had filed a complaint with the Swiss government.
The effects of the ShareReactor raid extended far beyond this indexing site. Jigle.com, a well known eDonkey2000 statistical site, closed its doors on March 16. ACFmovies.com, an Asian eDonkey2000 film site, also shut down in response. However, there’s a reverse side to this situation as well. Within a few short months, alternative indexing sites were quick to fill the vacuum left by ShareReactor. Most notably, ShareConnector became the standard in eDonkey2000 distribution, followed by more current alternatives such as ShareProvider, ShareVirus and FileHash.
Over time, ShareReactor’s disappearance became less of a hindrance as alternative indexing sites appeared and BitTorrent became more of an active source of information. Yet ShareReactor still manages to stir the P2P community despite it apparent defunct status.
The original site owner, Simon Moon, announced yesterday that he has sold the ShareReactor.com domain. At first appearance, the site appears nearly identical to the old ShareReactor, complete with indexed eDonkey2000 links. The details of the transaction are currently unknown. However, the following is known about the “new” ShareReactor.
Much of ShareReactor's old database (until early 2004) is still intact, along with some newer releases. The domain “ShareReactor.com” is registered privately with LeaseWeb, a Dutch web hosting company based in the Netherlands. Curiously, the forums’ IP address (64.27.6.7) is registered with an American based company named Hollywood Interactive, Inc. Considering many eDoneky2000 links were traded in the ShareReactor forums, some have expressed suspicion. However, Hollywood Interactive, Inc. appears to be nothing more than a web hosting company based in Los Angles, California.
The new Administrators in a statement said that many of the old team members have returned, along with some “new people.” Simon Moon is the notable exception. Additionally, the new ownership hopes to restore the old ShareReactor name, and has initiated several new features.
“We, the administrators, are all committed to bringing you, the best quality releases, checked for fakes, viruses and all nicely named – all for your pleasure. To uphold the quality, our administrators have checked and verified every single one of our old releases. Surprisingly 90% of our old work is still accessible to our users. This number really shows how powerful the ShareReactor effect was.”
Emailed questions to ShareReactor were returned undeliverable, and Simon Moon declined to comment at time of publication. |

yeah i agree with Artur, let them think it's like that.
Beside that, i checked that site and it isn't as good as it was before and i don't think it will be that good anymore. The other Thing is you can use the search function so there is no need for the website of sharereactor. And the thing with fake sharers i never had a problem, since i never dl anything that was fake, or maybe i can't remember it. |

I take it you don't remember SR from before. They always did that - adding a 'Sharereactor' to the filename. Other ed2k pages do the same.
Makes it look like they had a hand in ripping too but they never remove original group tag. The discussion about this is ages old, you'll find them in any forum. |

HAHA it's gone now with an adridden page
http://64.27.6.7/viewtopic.php?t=87186
| Quote: | someone deleted the main page news post about this, well here it is just in case
Well in short, we, the staff, got screwed over big time and that by a person we thought of as not just our boss but also our friend. We have defended him countless of times over the years from an endless abyss of rumers and badmouthing. All because we felt we knew a different side of him than the rest of you.
It's very sad to see that we we're wrong. He really is a shit.
2 months ago SimonMoon appeared out of the blue and told us to gather the gang, he wanted to revive SR, make it bigger and better than it ever was.
He had so many plans and it all sounded too good to be true, we didn't really believe it would happen and the opening date got pushed a few times but then the day came, SR was back in business!
With only 5 actively releasing team members (2 years ago we were around 15 I think) it was impossible to make SR what it used to be and with nothing going on in the forums building a new team seemed hopeless. But we tried our best with the time we had to spare, by we I mean the staff. Simon worked a little on the site, then slipped out and was seen less and less and the last month we haven't seen or heard from him at all.
Not untill today. He pops back on IRC telling a a sob story how he was forced to do it this way. It's out of his hands.
The sale was planned since the opening, he knew all along it would happen.
HE DIDN'T TELL US A DAMN THING. Nothing. Zip. Nada.
In fact he told us the opposite, he went on and on about all the plans for the future of SR. Made sure we would do our best to revive the site so he could sell it for a good price and give his staff the finger, both of them.
In case you are confused, SR was never sold - there is no new owner, it's still SimonMoon behind the curtains. He didn't want anyone to know, so he went undercover as "BNDR."
Or at least he is the owner for the next 7 days untill a new owner is found on sitepoint.
I don't give shit for that "I selling for a friend" story.
The worst really isn't that Simon completely screwed us over. We worked on the site because we had fun doing it.
Our work is not wasted, more than 200.000 people have enjoyed our work and noone can take away the time well spent, the many hours we spent in the forums and on IRC, the many people we have gotten to know - it's a chapter in our lives and none of us will forget it.
It ended bad the first time, but that was something we all knew could happen, we knew the risks. But this time...
No, the worst about this whole charade is the way this site, our baby we have watched grow from zero to something noone would have dreamed of when it started out, is auctioned of by it's owner like it's an old pair of shoes. Like it doesn't matter, like he doesn't give a fuck who get's it and what happens to it.
I can't think of a worse way to end the SR era than this.
I told Simon he's a shit. I was so dissapointed, so agry, felt so fucked, so screwed and so like a fool that it was all I could master.
His reaction was...
"Fuck u all."
And that is exactly what he has done...
So let these be my last words to Simon; FUCK YOU TOO.

There're thieves and then there are thieves.
Simon acted like a drug addict,
stealing from his friends.
